Victim Safety, Impact of Trauma on Children & Orders of Protection
Presenters:
The Honorable Elizabeth Finn -- Presiding Judge, Glendale City Court
Doreen Nicholas – Awareness & Training Manager, Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence
Judge Finn will discuss the “Ins” and “Outs” of Orders of Protection and describe the diversion programs currently in use at Glendale City Court.
Doreen Nicholas will discuss the effects of trauma on children, the difficulty of ending relationships, victim risk and safety planning, crisis intervention and perpetrator accountability.
This workshop is designed for lawyers, mental health practitioners and mediators of all levels and will meet the continuing education requirements for domestic violence training for the Maricopa County Superior Court mediation roster and judge pro tem roster.
